Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum

From 1942 to 1946, Carrabelle’s Camp Gordon Johnston operated for the sole purpose of training amphibious soldiers and their support groups, instructing a quarter of a million men in four short years. The CGJ Museum preserves the heritage of the men who trained at this camp during World War II, compiling an extensive history of the various units that trained there. Exhibits include a photographic display of the area and life as it existed at the camp, as well as numerous artifacts brought back from battles overseas- uniforms, mess kits, and all sorts of souvenirs.

Claude Pepper Foundation & Museum

Features a museum, art gallery and library.  Exhibits take visitors through more than forty years of the public life of Florida Senator Claude Pepper.  Gallery features changing art exhibitions; Library houses papers, photographs, recordings and memorabilia of the Senator and his wife, Mildred Webster Pepper.  Mon-Fri  8:30a.m. - 5 p.m. FREE.

Tallahassee Regional Airport

Enjoy a panoramic view of impressive aircraft departures and landings from the Aviation Museum that is located on the 2nd Floor of the Ivan B. Munroe terminal. The museum features aviation-related exhibits relevant to the Tallahassee area within a 100-mile radius. The exhibits highlight contributions from individuals as well as organizations. Exhibits highlight biographies prepared from personal interviews and historical research. Memorabilia displayed in clude photos, newspaper articles, trophies, awards, medals, uniforms, aircraft replicas, and many other unique and personal treasures. New exhibits are featured on a quarterly basis. Free admission, 5:00 am to midnight 7 days a week.
