City Offering Sand and Bags
Three Locations Available for Citizens to Fill Bags - In anticipation of heavy rainfall amounts from Tropical Storm Fay, the City of Tallahassee has opened three locations where citizens may obtain sand and sandbags. Citizens will need to bring their own shovels, and be prepared to fill bags themselves. The three locations are:
Corner of Mabry Street and Bellevue Way; Mitchell Avenue next to Winthrop Park; Lawrence-Gregory Community Center at Dade Street (1115 Dade St.)
There is a limit of 25 bags per customer. The City will release additional information regarding preparations for Tropical Storm Fay later this afternoon. Storm-related information will be posted on the City's Talgov.com website.
