Tallahassee Visitor Center Open House
Tallahassee, FL Please join the Tallahassee Area Convention and Visitors Bureau November 2, from 6-8 p.m. for the Visitor Center Open House located at 106 E. Jefferson Street overlooking the Capitol Complex.
The newly renovated gift shop now specializes in unique Tallahassee Souvenirs, Tee Shirts, Umbrella's and much more. This will also be the last night to view featured local artist, Fred Fisher's artwork 'Gyotaku.'
In Fred's style of 'Gyotaku', the actual fish is his canvas. He applies colorful acrylic paint to the fish itself. Once completed, cloth or handmade paper is pressed onto the surface of the fish. When the cloth or paper is removed, you are left with a beautiful impression. Fred's goal is to give the fish beauty by using vivid, life-like color. He gives special attention to the exquisite anatomy of the different species and pays attention to the details that make each fish unique.
For more information on the Visitor Center Open House or Fred Fisher's works of art, please contact Visitor Center Manager Richard Bivins at BivinsRi@VisitTallahassee.com or 850.606.2305.
