 Aucilla Riveraucilla river

The Aucilla River is approximately 69 miles long.  This blackwater river originates in Brooks County, Georgia.  It forms a natural boundary between Jefferson, Madison, and Taylor Counties.  The upper stretch of the Aucilla River does not have a defined channel, but south of US Highway 90, the channel is well-defined.  The middle stretch of this river is the most scenic and offers whitewater for paddlers.  The designated canoe trail is 27 miles starting at Federal Road # 1 or starting 1 mile south of Lamont on US Highway 19/27 Bridge.
