Welcome to The Great Outdoors. Tallahassee and the surrounding areas have many lakes to explore.

Lake Munson

Lake Munson is located south of Tallahassee in the Lake Munson Sandhills.
It covers 255 acres.  It is encircled by immense Pond Cypress Trees.
The County Lake Munson Preserve Park offers picnic tables, a boat ramp, restrooms, and nature trails.  There are two other landings off of US 319 that offer access to this lake.
The St. Marks Historical Railroad Trail and the Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park are close by.  The St. Marks trail runs from Tallahassee past the Apalachicola National Forest to the coastal community St. Marks.  It is a paved trail that offers bikers, walkers, skaters, and horseback riders an excellent place to enjoy the outdoors.  About a mile and a half from the head of the trail, the Munson Hills Off Road Trails run through the Apalachicola National Forest.  The Natural Bridge Battlefield held the second largest Civil War battle in Florida.  It was here that the Confederate soldiers kept the Union troops from capturing Florida’s Capitol.
